Amaco manufactures over 500 glazes, underglazes, and overglazes with firing ranges from Cone 022 to Cone 5. Many colors will also fire to Cone 10. Each glaze or underglaze series offers its own unique appearance giving the artist unlimited creative expression. AMACO makes 501 Lead Free Glazes that bear the AP Non Toxic Seal for use in grades K-6 and above. AMACO also manufactures an additional 81 glazes for use in grades 7-12 (and above) with adult supervision with the CL seal (Cautions Labeled) that are restricted from use preK-6. These seals from the Art & Creative Materials Institute (ACMI) are in accordance with federal standards ASTM D-4236/FHSA for safe labeling. All AMACO glazes currently in production are labeled to indicate their suitability for use on food or drink containers. 446 AMACO Glazes are certified dinnerware-safe through independent laboratory testing in order to meet FDA Guidelines. When AMACO dinnerware-safe glazes, such as LG-10 Clear Transparent, are used over other AMACO underglazes on pottery, such containers also become dinnerware-safe.
