"Bahama Mama" by Janet Verdegem, Cullowhee, North Carolina, is decorated with SS-201 Tulip Red and other glazes.
Vivid reds, oranges, yellow and green! Six intense special underglazes specifically formulated for Cone 06-05 (1855°-1911° F, 1013°-1044° C) in oxidation and raku firings -- with or without a clear glaze. Sun Strokes Underglazes have a gloss finish even when fired without the clear glaze. Therefore, if they are applied on the bottom of the piece, they must be stilted when fired or they will stick to the kiln shelf.
Sun Strokes Underglaze Colors also available in economical class packs.

Sun Strokes are available in 2 oz. jars or in a set containing one two ounce jar of each color.
Clear glaze smoothes out and brightens the colors. Apply two even coats to bisque. When using clear glaze, it must be applied over the decorated object before firing of the underglaze. Apply LG-10 or F-10 Clear Glaze over underglaze colors for one stroke application and all over coverage. Apply one even coat on a mature Cone 04 (1971°F, 1077°C) bisque. Fire to Cone 06-05 (1855°-1911°F, 1013°-1044°C).
AMACO Sun Strokes have only been tested and approved as dinnerware safe when applied and fired under LG-10 Clear Glaze. They should not be used on surfaces which come in contact with food or drink. If left unglazed, AMACO clear glazes LG-9, LG-10, F-10 and HF-9 or any other dinnerware safe glaze are recommended to be used over AMACO Sun Strokes to make them dinnerware safe.
