Pyrometric Cones-Orton:

Pyrometric cones are the most accurate indicators of actual firing temperatures. Usually three cones are selected and set in a clay pot or cone holder at an 82° angle -- one to deform at the recommended firing temperature of the clay or glaze, one to deform at lower temperature as a warning signal and one higher. Small cone is 1 1/8" high, large cone is 2 1/2" high. SSU=1 box of 50. Call for cone number availability.
